1. Take one project at a time or even take one section of the project. If you try tackling the whole project from start to finish right away it will be too much. Take one step at a time and then when one part is completed you go on to the next. Believe it or not it will make the work less stressful.
2. Exercise! This is my cure-all for everything. If you don’t work from home go out for a walk and clear your mind. Staring at your desk is not going to make anything magical happen but going for a walk and sitting down with a fresh perspective could do the trick. Exercise also lifts your mood and energizes you so it is a win/win situation.
3. If you are truly overwhelmed and there are not enough hours in the day and you are falling behind then perhaps you do have too much work. Let your manager know you are truly overwhelmed with work. The mistake that is often made is we think managers can read our minds. They are busy also and may not realize what a tight spot you are in so give it a try.
4. Last but not least organize your desk. They are all types of organization and do what works best for you. Whatever type of files or system you find that helps you get your work done is a plus.
