My friend was hungry after we had put in a full day of shopping so she decided to stop at a fast food chain and place her order at the drive through. We sat for a while at the drive-thru and you could tell the person taking our order was not really paying attention because my friend had to repeat it twice but still that happens because there is a lot going on so no big deal. Then we pulled around to the window and the girl was on the phone talking loudly about how bad one of the other employees was and all the mistakes she has made. Never made eye contact, I asked a question that was ignored and the change was held out for my friend to take while the employee was still talking looking away from us without so much as a “thank you.” I could still hear her talking as we drove up to pick up the food.
This type of customer service is not great. If you have to be on the phone bad mouthing someone put the phone down while you hand the change back to the customer. You don’t even have to say “thank you” the eye contact would be nice though.
It probably was just a bad day for that individual but what they do not realize is their bad day can leave a lasting impression on those that came there and in some cases the company can lose good customers.
